Bhopal: The Adani Group will invest ₹2.1 lakh crore in Madhya Pradesh, creating over one lakh jobs, billionaire Gautam Adani announced on Monday. He also revealed that discussions are underway for a greenfield smart city, an airport project, and a coal gasification initiative, which would further boost investments in the state.
Speaking at the Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit in Bhopal, Mr. Adani stated that the investment will span multiple sectors, including pumped storage, cement, mining, smart meters, and thermal energy. By 2030, these projects are expected to generate over 1.2 lakh jobs in the state.
“These are not just investments; they mark key milestones in a shared journey—one that will position Madhya Pradesh as a leader in industrial and economic growth. They reflect our strong confidence in the leadership of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, as well as our unwavering commitment to the state’s remarkable rise,” he said.
Mr. Adani highlighted that his ports-to-energy conglomerate has already invested ₹50,000 crore in Madhya Pradesh across energy, infrastructure, logistics, and other sectors, leading to the creation of over 25,000 jobs.
“But our journey here is far from over,” he declared.
Commending Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the summit earlier in the day, Mr. Adani praised his visionary leadership, stating that it has transformed India from a nation that once followed global trends to one that now sets them.
“India’s confidence has never been higher, and our nation has never commanded greater respect on the global stage. When a country believes in itself, the world follows suit,” he said, attributing this resurgence to Prime Minister Modi’s relentless efforts.
He also praised Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s strong emphasis on ease of doing business, stating that it has transformed Madhya Pradesh into one of India’s most investment-ready states.
