Agra: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that 62 crore devotees have attended the Maha Kumbh so far, calling it “one of the rarest events of the century” due to the sheer scale of the gathering within a specific period.
Speaking at the Unicorn Companies Conclave in Agra, he welcomed the attendees and drew a parallel between the event and the startup world, saying, “I can call this the Unicorn Maha Kumbh of startups. The Maha Kumbh is drawing immense attraction at this time.”
Highlighting the significance of the region, he added, “Being in Braj Bhoomi is important to me. This land has a deep spiritual and cultural heritage that has shaped India’s civilization for centuries.”
Reiterating the scale of the Maha Kumbh, the Chief Minister emphasized that 62 crore devotees have already participated in the grand event.
“I believe that whether an event is spiritual or tourism-related, the gathering of such a massive number of people within a specific timeframe and their deep connection to the occasion make it one of the rarest events of the century,” he said.
Yogi Adityanath, who is also the Mahant of Gorakshapeeth, noted that it was perhaps foreseen that a time would come when people in India might feel disconnected from their traditions and culture. He stressed that the Kumbh serves as a powerful medium to rekindle that connection, drawing people back to their spiritual roots and cultural heritage.
