New Delhi: Donald Trump today praised the leaders of Russia, China, and North Korea, stating that they are at the peak of their power and that the U.S. needs a strong president to address this challenge. “Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un are at the top of their game,” Trump remarked during an interview with Elon Musk, streamed on X (formerly Twitter).
He added that while these leaders, often labeled as dictators, have a deep love for their countries, “it is a different form of love.”
Referring to Biden as “Sleepy Joe,” Trump claimed that Russia wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine if not for Biden’s leadership.
“I had a good relationship with Putin, and he respected me. We would discuss Ukraine, which was very important to him. But I told him, ‘Don’t do it,'” Trump asserted.
The interview started more than 40 minutes late due to technical issues. Musk attributed the delays to a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, a type of cyber attack that floods a server or network with excessive traffic to disrupt its operation, though this claim was not verified.
The conversation aims to revitalize Trump’s struggling campaign, which has lost momentum since President Joe Biden exited the race.
Musk, who has previously identified as a Democrat, has since supported Trump, especially after a gunman attempted to assassinate the Republican at a rally last month.
