RP Singh stated that 3,000 Sikhs were killed during the 1984 riots in Delhi under the Congress party’s administration.
On Tuesday, BJP spokesperson RP Singh challenged Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, to repeat his comments about Sikhs in India. Singh warned that he would take legal action against Gandhi if he did.
RP Singh claimed that 3,000 Sikhs were killed during the 1984 riots in Delhi under Congress party rule.
RP Singh stated, “3,000 Sikhs were massacred in Delhi; their turbans were removed, their hair was cut, and their beards were shaved… Rahul Gandhi doesn’t acknowledge that these atrocities occurred during Congress rule. I challenge him to repeat his statements about Sikhs in India, and then I will file a case against him and take him to court.”
While touring the United States, the Congress leader remarked that his current struggle concerns whether Sikhs will be allowed to wear turbans in India.
He explained, “Firstly, you need to understand the real issue. This fight isn’t about politics; it’s superficial. It’s about whether a Sikh will be allowed to wear his turban in India, whether he can wear a kada, or whether he can go to a Gurdwara. This issue extends beyond him to all religions.” Rahul Gandhi made these comments in Virginia.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan criticized Rahul Gandhi for his remarks, stating that as an opposition leader, Atal Bihari Vajpayee never attacked the government while abroad.
“Rahul Gandhi holds a responsible position as the Leader of the Opposition. I want to remind him that when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was in the same role, he never sought to tarnish the country’s image on foreign soil… After being defeated for the third consecutive time, anti-BJP, anti-RSS, and anti-Modi sentiments have taken hold of him. He is persistently trying to damage the country’s reputation. Such actions amount to treason. Who attacked the Constitution? Who imposed the emergency? Gandhi embarks on the Bharat Jodo Yatra but fails to unite either with India or its people,” Chouhan said.
BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari stated that the Congress party is afraid that their false propaganda will be exposed.
BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari remarked, “Today, the real fear is within the Congress party. When a Congress woman speaks out about casting couches, she gets suspended. All Congress workers are afraid because the party’s high command is either protecting rapists or aligning with those accused of rape. The Congress party is scared that their false propaganda will be exposed. The people have elected the BJP led by PM Modi in 2014, 2019, and Modi-led NDA in 2024.”
Rahul Gandhi also claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been psychologically unsettled since the Lok Sabha results.
