Stree 2 Box Office Collection: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s horror-comedy has surpassed Animal’s ₹553.87 crore lifetime earnings in India.
Stree 2, featuring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, is now the second-highest-grossing Hindi film in India. According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film’s domestic box office collection has reached ₹583.35 crore nett after its fifth Monday in theaters. Directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt, Stree 2 is a sequel to the 2018 hit *Stree*.

Taran Adarsh tweeted on Tuesday, “Stree 2 continues to perform at fifth Friday levels, though business saw a boost that day due to the BOGO (buy one, get one free) ticket offer. The consistent Monday figures indicate the film is on track to make history as the first Hindi film to cross the ₹600 crore mark. The Week 5 box office numbers are: Friday ₹3.60 cr, Saturday ₹5.55 cr, Sunday ₹6.85 cr, Monday ₹3.17 cr. Total: ₹583.35 cr in India.”
Stree 2 vs. Animal and Jawan
Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan remains the highest-grossing Hindi film in India. According to a 2023 report by Sacnilk.com, the action film has amassed a lifetime collection of ₹640.25 crore nett in India. Released on September 7, 2023, Jawan was Shah Rukh’s second film of the year, following Pathaan and Dunki. The film also starred Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and featured Deepika Padukone in a special appearance.
Stree 2 has now overtaken Animal in terms of India box office collections. As reported by Sacnilk.com in 2024, Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and released on December 1, 2024, earned a total of ₹553.87 crore nett in India.
Animal features Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Triptii Dimri in prominent roles. The film was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada. Despite its strong box office performance, Animal faced criticism from some critics and audiences for its portrayal of misogynistic and violent themes.

We were confident in the film’s quality, but we didn’t anticipate such impressive numbers… I’m currently sleep-deprived. I haven’t slept much, so first, I’ll catch up on rest, and then I’ll start planning my next movie.”
