In his initial response to the surprising results of the Haryana assembly polls, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi affirmed his commitment to thoroughly analyzing the recent election outcomes that have caught many off guard.
Speaking to the media, Gandhi remarked, “The results are unexpected, and we are currently assessing them.”
Gandhi stressed the significance of transparency and accountability in the electoral process, stating that the Congress party will formally report various complaints from assembly constituencies across Haryana to the Election Commission.
“We are analyzing the unexpected results from Haryana and will communicate the complaints received from several assembly constituencies to the Election Commission,” he said.
Additionally, the former Congress president expressed his gratitude to the people of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir for their support.
“My heartfelt thanks to the people of Jammu and Kashmir—INDIA’s victory in the state represents a victory for the Constitution and for democratic self-respect,” he stated.
On Tuesday, the BJP achieved a remarkable hat-trick victory in Haryana, overcoming anti-incumbency challenges and thwarting Congress’s comeback efforts. Meanwhile, the National Conference-Congress alliance celebrated a significant win in the first elections held in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
Gandhi stated that the Congress was reviewing the results of the Haryana assembly elections.
In a post on X, he offered his “heartfelt thanks to all the people of Haryana for their support and to our ‘Babbar Sher’ workers for their unwavering dedication.”
