Priyanka Gandhi vs. Rahul Gandhi vs. Robert Vadra: Assets Comparison. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra submitted her nomination papers for the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypolls on Tuesday. She was joined by her brother Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. In her nomination documents, Priyanka Gandhi provided details of her assets and wealth, along with those of her husband, Robert Vadra.
According to Priyanka Gandhi’s election affidavit, she declared assets totaling over Rs 12 crore, which includes her house in Shimla valued at Rs 5.63 crore. In detailing her immovable assets, she stated that these are worth more than Rs 7.74 crore. This includes two inherited half-shares of agricultural land in the Mehrauli area of New Delhi and a half-share in a farmhouse located there, all of which are currently valued at over Rs 2.10 crore. Additionally, she mentioned a self-acquired residential property in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, valued at over Rs 5.63 crore.
As stated in her election affidavit, Priyanka Gandhi reported a total income of over Rs 46.39 lakh for the financial year 2023-2024, derived from sources such as rental income, bank interest, and other investments. She disclosed that she has movable assets valued at over Rs 4.24 crore, which include deposits of various amounts across three bank accounts, investments in mutual funds and PPF, a Honda CRV car gifted by her husband Robert Vadra, and over 4,400 grams (gross) of gold worth Rs 1.15 crore.
In her election affidavit, Priyanka Gandhi reported that her husband, Robert Vadra, possesses movable assets valued at over Rs 37.9 crore and immovable assets worth more than Rs 27.64 crore.
Priyanka has liabilities amounting to Rs 15.75 lakh. Additionally, she is undergoing income tax reassessment proceedings for the assessment year 2012-13, during which she is required to pay over Rs 15 lakh in taxes.
In his election affidavit for the Lok Sabha polls held in June this year, Rahul Gandhi declared assets exceeding Rs 20 crore. He reported movable assets totaling Rs 9,24,59,264, which include shares valued at Rs 4,33,60,519, mutual funds worth Rs 3,81,33,572, a bank balance of Rs 26,25,157, and 333.3 grams of gold and jewelry (with net gold at 168.8 grams) valued at Rs 4,20,850, as well as gold bonds amounting to Rs 15,21,740.
Rahul Gandhi reported immovable assets valued at Rs 11,15,02,598, comprising self-acquired assets worth Rs 9,04,89,000 and inherited assets totaling Rs 2,10,13,598. He also declared Rs 55,000 in cash and a liability of Rs 49,79,184. His immovable assets include approximately 3.778 acres of agricultural land in Sultanpur, jointly owned with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, as well as commercial office space in Signature Towers, Gurugram, measuring 5,838 square feet. The two commercial apartments are valued at around Rs 9.05 crore.
