According to police sources cited by NDTV, Mumbai traffic control received an anonymous threat on October 30, warning that Salman Khan would be killed if he did not pay a ₹2 crore ransom.
Mumbai Police have filed a case against unidentified individuals and launched an investigation, with charges including extortion and death threats, according to the news channel.
This follows the arrest of a 20-year-old man from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday for allegedly threatening Salman Khan and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique, a police official said.
“The accused first sent a threatening message to MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s helpline number, then followed up with a voice call issuing death threats to both Siddique and Khan on Friday,” said an official from Nirmal Nagar Police Station.
Zeeshan’s father, Baba Siddique, a 66-year-old three-time MLA and former state minister, was fatally shot outside his son’s office in Bandra on October 12. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the killing, citing Siddique’s close association with Salman Khan as a key motive.
