Raghav Chadha Condemns Attack on Anil Deshmukh
“The attack on former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh is shocking. Violence has absolutely no place in our politics or society. I urge authorities to take swift action against the perpetrators,” AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
The incident occurred around 8 PM on Monday night in Nagpur district, when stones were hurled at Deshmukh’s car as he was returning to Katol after attending a meeting in Narkhed village. Deshmukh sustained injuries and was promptly taken to Katol Civil Hospital for treatment.
Arvind Kejriwal Condemns the Incident
Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal also criticized the attack in a post on X, stating, “I strongly condemn the life-threatening assault on Anil Deshmukh ji. Violence has no place in a democratic society.”
Priyanka Chaturvedi Slams Maharashtra Government Over Attack on Anil Deshmukh
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized the attack on Anil Deshmukh, calling it a reflection of lawlessness under the current Maharashtra government.
“The attack on former Maharashtra Home Minister Shri Anil Deshmukh is extremely worrisome and yet another reminder of how goons are operating with impunity under this Mahajhoothi government. Wishing him a speedy recovery,” she wrote in a post.
Supriya Sule and Vikas Thakre Express Concern Over Attack on Anil Deshmukh
Sharing visuals of Anil Deshmukh being transported in an ambulance, Baramati MP Supriya Sule expressed her concern, saying, “Extremely worried and anxious! Wishing @AnilDeshmukhNCP ji a speedy recovery!”
Congress leader Vikas Thakre also highlighted the gravity of the incident, stressing its seriousness. Speaking to PTI, he noted that Deshmukh, who is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries, is unable to speak at the moment.
Thakre questioned the implications of such violence, asking what it means for the safety of ordinary citizens if even a former minister can be targeted in this manner.
