Dausa Tragedy: 5-Year-Old Aryan Loses Life After 56-Hour Borewell Rescue
In a heartbreaking incident, 5-year-old Aryan, who was trapped in a borewell for three days in Kalaikhar village, Paprada police station area, was finally pulled out around 11:45 PM on Wednesday. Despite being rushed to Dausa district hospital in an ambulance equipped with advanced life support systems, doctors declared him dead after conducting an ECG. The rescue operation spanned approximately 56 hours, leaving the community in deep mourning.
Rescue teams, including the NDRF, utilized innovative methods such as an umbrella device, a ring device, and three rods tied with rope to extract the child at around 10 PM. Earlier in the day, efforts to dig a parallel tunnel about six feet away from the borewell were abandoned. Aryan had fallen into the uncovered borewell while playing on Monday afternoon, prompting a massive rescue operation that tragically ended in loss.
Two Rescue Methods Fail, Third Attempt Adopted
After two failed attempts to rescue the trapped child, a new method was initiated on Wednesday. Initially, a tunnel was being dug using a piling machine, but the effort was abandoned due to technical difficulties. Subsequently, another tunnel was started about four feet away from the borewell, but this too was discontinued.
A piling machine brought in from Sawai Madhopur managed to dig approximately 20 feet within an hour. However, the machine broke down before completing the task, delaying progress further.
Officials and Leaders Present at the Scene
The Collector, ASP, and several officials remained at the site throughout the three-day rescue effort. Local leaders, including MP Murarilal Meena, MLA Ramvilas Meena, and MLA Vikram Bansiwala, also visited to monitor the situation and support the family.
Villagers Gather in Thousands; Police Control Crowd
Thousands of villagers gathered to witness the rescue operation and pray for Aryan’s safety. To maintain order, police dispersed the crowd and restricted access to the area for outsiders.
