Srinagar: Security forces achieved a major success by eliminating five terrorists in an encounter in Behibagh village, Kulgam district, South Kashmir. Two soldiers were also injured during the operation.
A senior police official reported that a joint operation was initiated by the police, the Army’s Rashtriya Rifles, and the CRPF in Kadder village based on “credible intelligence” regarding the presence of terrorists.
As security forces closed in on the suspected hideout, the militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight. Two soldiers were injured during the initial exchange of gunfire.
All five militants were neutralized in the operation. “The identity and affiliation of the slain terrorists are being verified,” the official stated.
The area remains under a security cordon as the search operation continues.
