Mumbai Police Arrest Attacker in Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case
On Sunday, Mumbai Police arrested Shareeful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, a Bangladeshi national, for stabbing Saif Ali Khan during a burglary attempt at the actor’s Bandra apartment on January 16.
Evidence in Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case Sent for Forensic Examination
A range of materials, including mobile phones, the accused’s clothing, and CCTV footage seized after the arrest of 30-year-old Shareeful Islam, alias Vijay Das, have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis.
Shariful, a Bangladeshi national who illegally entered India last year under the alias Vijay Das, allegedly attacked Saif Ali Khan during a robbery attempt at the actor’s home. Khan was reportedly stabbed while trying to protect his young son, Jeh, from the intruder.

On Tuesday, police reconstructed the sequence of events surrounding the stabbing incident at Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence. As part of the recreation, the accused was briefly taken to a nearby building, according to officials.
Saif Ali Khan Discharged After Surgery; Meets Auto Driver Who Helped During Knife Attack
A day earlier, Saif Ali Khan was discharged from a private hospital in Mumbai after a five-day stay, during which he underwent two surgeries following a knife attack at his home.
Khan recently met Bhajan Singh Rana, the auto-rickshaw driver who rushed him to the hospital in the early hours after the attack. The actor expressed his gratitude for Rana’s timely help, thanked him personally, and offered financial assistance.
While Rana declined to disclose the exact amount given by Saif, citing the actor’s request for privacy, he mentioned receiving ₹11,000 separately from social worker Faizan Ansari. Rana added that Saif assured him of support whenever needed.
