“It’s too embarrassing to watch such videos. Our country is rooted in culture, and I feel ashamed when I see this. What is happening to our younger generation in the race for cheap popularity?” Yadav, 53, told ANI.
India’s Got Latent sparked outrage on social media after YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s remark about parents in a recent episode drew backlash from audiences. The controversy led to widespread condemnation of the influencer, followed by legal action against Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and other judges on the show.
Rajpal Yadav emphasized that art should not be misused for the sake of fame. He remarked, “I have always been proud to be an artist. But it’s like a peacock dancing joyfully in the jungle—until it looks at its own feet and starts to cry. Watching such people gives a similar feeling.”
Addressing ways to prevent such controversies, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor stressed the importance of guidance. “Counseling is crucial to ensure that art doesn’t become a mere toy that people begin to despise. Respect yourself, your parents, every community, the nation, and the world,” he urged.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Cyber Department has filed an FIR against YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, and others involved in the controversial episode of the YouTube reality show.
On Wednesday, Samay Raina addressed the controversy, revealing that he has deleted all videos of the show. He also admitted that the situation has become overwhelming for him.
