According to data from the health department, Karnataka has reported 25,408 dengue cases, with the death toll rising to 12. Bengaluru has the highest number of dengue patients, exceeding 11,000 cases, including three deaths. Other regions such as Mandya, Hassan, Mysuru, and Kalaburgi also have notable case numbers.
The health department has issued a warning to homeowners about penalties for allowing mosquito breeding around their properties. A fine of ₹400 will be imposed in urban areas and ₹200 in rural areas if properties are not kept clean. In commercial areas, the penalty will be ₹1,000 in urban regions and ₹500 in rural ones. Owners of active construction sites that facilitate mosquito breeding will face fines of ₹2,000 in urban areas and ₹1,000 in rural areas.
