One of the greatest footballers of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo, has embarked on a new career path. After dominating the world of football for nearly two decades, Ronaldo has ventured into content creation by launching his YouTube channel, ‘UR Cristiano’. Within just hours of the launch, Ronaldo set a world record for the fastest time to reach 1 million subscribers. Additionally, within 24 hours, his subscriber count surged to 10 million, setting yet another world record.
Ronaldo is already one of the most-followed figures on social media, with 112.5 million followers on X (formerly Twitter), 170 million on Facebook, and 636 million on Instagram.
On Wednesday, he announced the launch of his YouTube channel with a post on his social media accounts: “The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey.”
On the opening day of his channel, Ronaldo showcased several videos, including a teaser trailer and a fun quiz game with his partner, Georgina Rodriguez. The channel also featured a segment of the Portuguese footballer meeting his wax figure at Madame Tussauds.
The previous record for reaching 10 million subscribers on YouTube was held by Hamster Kombat, which took 7 days to achieve this milestone. Ronaldo’s channel has already surpassed 12 million subscribers and continues to grow at an unprecedented rate.
Given the pace of growth, it would not be surprising if the veteran striker, currently playing for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, sets even more records on YouTube in the future.
