NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with his council of ministers, is scheduled to take the oath for his third consecutive term on Sunday. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) holds a robust position with 293 Members of Parliament in the 543-member Lok Sabha. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) itself has secured 240 seats, making it the largest party in the coalition.
Earlier, the BJP’s parliamentary committee officially confirmed the election of PM Modi as their leader in Parliament.
NDA leaders, including TDP and JD(U), expressed their support by endorsing Modi as the coalition leader. In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP emerged as the largest single party with 240 seats. Narendra Modi, along with members of his new Council of Ministers, is set to be sworn in as Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term at 7:15 PM on Sunday, June 9. Dignitaries attending the ceremony include Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Seychelles Vice President Ahmed Afif, who arrived in Delhi today. Other foreign leaders expected to attend are Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Nepal PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ and Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay.
