The Bharatiya Janata Party has released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, nominating Captain Yogesh Bairagi to contest from the Julana constituency against famous wrestler Vinesh Phogat.

The BJP released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections on Tuesday, naming 21 candidates. In Julana, Captain Yogesh Bairagi has been selected to face off against renowned wrestler Vinesh Phogat, making this one of the most highly anticipated contests of the election.
According to his Facebook profile, Captain Yogesh Bairagi is the State Vice President of the BJP’s youth wing and the Co-Convenor of the Haryana Sports Cell.
The party has nominated Pawan Saini, considered close to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, to contest from the Naraingarh seat, while Satpal Jamba has been selected to run from Pundri.
Yogender Rana will represent the BJP in Assandh, and Devender Kaushik has been nominated for Ganaur, replacing current MLA Nirmal Rani. BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli, the incumbent MLA from Rai, has been replaced by Krishna Gehlawat.
Other key nominations include Baldev Singh Mangiana for Dabwali, Manish Grover for Rohtak, Om Prakash Yadav for Narnaul, Krishna Kumar for Bawal (SC), Bimla Chaudhary for Pataudi (SC), Sanjay Singh for Nuh, and Naseem Ahmed for Ferozepur Jhirka.
Additionally, Aizaz Khan has been fielded from Punhana, Manoj Rawat from Hathin, and Harinder Singh Ramrattan from Hodal (SC). Seema Trikha, the sitting MLA from Badhkal, has been dropped, with Dhanesh Adhlakha contesting from the seat.
In Hathin, Pravin Dagar has been replaced by Manoj Rawat, while Jagdish Nayar has been dropped in Hodal, with Harinder Singh Ramrattan stepping in as the new candidate.
Meanwhile, Om Prakash Yadav has been retained as the BJP candidate for Narnaul.
These changes are part of the BJP’s strategy to refresh its lineup ahead of the Haryana elections, scheduled for October 5, with results to be announced on October 8.
The BJP had earlier released its first list of 67 candidates for the 90-member Assembly on September 4, fielding Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini from the Ladwa seat and giving poll tickets to several recent party entrants.
