Gurumurthy, a retired Army jawan, allegedly confessed to killing his wife, Puttavenkata Madhavi, dismembering her body, and boiling the parts in a pressure cooker before disposing of them in a lake.
The chilling incident occurred in Venkateswara Colony, under the jurisdiction of Meerpet Police Station in Rangareddy district, Telangana.
Madhavi was reported missing on January 18 after her mother, Subamma, filed a complaint with the police. According to Meerpet Inspector Nagaraju, Madhavi had left her house on January 16 following an argument with Gurumurthy, as reported by ANI.

During the investigation, police took the suspect, who is currently employed as a security guard in Kanchanbagh, into custody. He allegedly admitted to killing his wife in a fit of rage following a heated argument.
Gruesome Details: Suspect Allegedly Boiled Body Parts and Crushed Bones to Destroy Evidence
After killing his wife, the suspect allegedly took extreme measures to eliminate evidence. According to police sources cited by The Times of India, he dismembered her body in the bathroom and boiled the parts in a pressure cooker.
He then separated the bones from the flesh, crushed them with a pestle, and boiled them again in a further attempt to erase all traces of the crime.
Suspect Allegedly Boiled Remains for Days Before Dumping Them in Lake; Police Continue Search
The suspect reportedly boiled the victim’s flesh and bones for three days before packing them in a bag and dumping them in a nearby lake.
As of late Wednesday, police were still searching for the victim’s remains in the lake where Gurumurthy claimed to have disposed of the body parts. According to The Times of India, clues teams and a dog squad are conducting an extensive search to locate the remains.
Police Continue Investigation Despite Husband’s Confession in Hyderabad Murder Case
LB Nagar DCP stated that although the husband has confessed to the crime, the investigation is ongoing to verify the details. “As of now, we are not finalizing the cause of death. We need to uncover the truth,” the senior officer told ANI.
Madhavi and Gurumurthy had been married for 13 years and were living with their two children in Venkateswara Colony for the past five years.
Children Were Away During Alleged Murder; Case Still Treated as Missing Person Incident
On the day of the alleged murder, the couple’s children were reportedly visiting the suspect’s sister. Gurumurthy is said to have fabricated the story of Madhavi’s disappearance and informed her parents about it.
According to Meerpet SHO K Nagaraju, as reported by The Times of India, the case is still being treated as a “missing person” investigation since no concrete evidence of the suspected murder has been discovered yet.
