Jaipur-Ajmer Accident: Witness Accounts
Witnesses reported seeing flames from more than a kilometre away. A school van driver, on his way to pick up students, recounted the horrifying sight of a man engulfed in flames.
“As I approached the scene, I saw people running frantically and shouting for help. I witnessed a man completely engulfed in flames—it was terrifying,” the driver told PTI. “Fire brigades and ambulances were present, but they initially struggled to reach the site.”
Another witness told ANI that an entire stretch of 100 to 200 meters of the highway was scorched by the blaze.
“When we woke up at 5:30 in the morning, we heard a loud blast. Those who managed to jump out of the bus survived, but those who couldn’t were engulfed in flames. An entire stretch of 100-200 meters was burned,” one witness recounted.
Another survivor, who escaped by breaking a window of the bus he was traveling in, described a series of explosions.
“My friend and I were traveling from Rajsamand to Jaipur. Around 5:30 in the morning, our bus suddenly stopped, and we heard a massive blast. Flames surrounded the bus… The door was locked, so we broke a window and jumped out,” he told ANI.
“About 7-8 others also jumped out through the window. There were continuous explosions, one after another. A petrol pump was nearby…” he added.
