After much anticipation, Suriya and Bobby Deol’s film Kanguva has finally been released in theaters. Directed by Siva, the movie was eagerly awaited by fans. However, to everyone’s surprise, it is struggling to gain traction at the box office. One week after its release, the film has earned only Rs 62.91 crore. Given its massive production budget of Rs 350 crore, the movie is experiencing extremely slow growth.
Kanguva Day-Wise Box Office Report
Released in five languages—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam—Kanguva saw a strong opening, earning Rs 24 crore on its first day. However, from day two onwards, the film experienced a sharp decline, grossing only Rs 9 crore. On day three, the box office collection slightly improved to Rs 9.8 crore, while day four saw a modest rise to Rs 10.25 crore.
From day five, the first Monday of its release, Kanguva experienced a significant drop, earning just Rs 3.15 crore. On days six and seven, the film managed to collect Rs 3.25 crore and Rs 2.43 crore, respectively. The estimated earnings for day eight are Rs 48 lakh. With these figures, the total box office collection of Kanguva stands at Rs 62.91 crore.
Will Kanguva Cross Rs 100 Crore in Its First Week?
It remains uncertain whether Kanguva will surpass the Rs 100 crore mark in its first week. The film has received mixed reviews since its release. While some fans enjoyed it, others felt the second half of the movie did not connect with the audience.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu Producers Council (TNPC) has called on theatre owners to prohibit YouTube channels from conducting fan interviews on theater premises after the first-day shows (FDFS). They have also urged them to cooperate in completely ending the practice of public reviews and opinions following FDFS.
In addition to Suriya and Bobby Deol, Kanguva features Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Harish Uthaman, and Mansoor Ali Khan in key roles.
