India’s First Private Sector Military Aircraft Plant
Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) will manufacture 40 C-295 military aircraft in India, establishing the country’s first private sector Final Assembly Line (FAL) for military aircraft. This facility will create a comprehensive ecosystem, encompassing manufacturing, assembly, testing, qualification, delivery, and maintenance throughout the aircraft’s lifecycle, according to a government statement.
In addition to Tata, key defense public sector entities like Bharat Electronics Ltd and Bharat Dynamics Ltd, along with private Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, will participate in the program.
