Rahul Gandhi remarked on Monday that Arvind Kejriwal employs campaigning tactics similar to those of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Aam Aadmi Party has condemned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of verbally attacking their party chief, Arvind Kejriwal. The party claimed that the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha directed insults at the former Delhi Chief Minister.
In a direct challenge to its India bloc partner, AAP Haryana President Sushil Gupta criticized Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, noting that they have failed to win a single seat in Delhi for the past decade. He also forecasted that the Rae Bareli MP’s party would again face defeat in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.
“Rahul Gandhi has not won a single seat in Delhi for the past 10 years, and this time too, he will not be able to secure any,” Sushil Gupta stated.
Gupta also accused Rahul Gandhi of insulting Arvind Kejriwal during his Delhi rally on Monday, attributing the behavior to the BJP.
“The BJP hides its agenda and resorts to attacking Arvind Kejriwal with insults, and this is precisely what Rahul Gandhi did throughout his rally in Delhi,” he remarked.
Rahul Gandhi stated on Monday that Arvind Kejriwal campaigned in a manner similar to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing both of making false promises.
Congress Responds to AAP’s Allegations Against Rahul Gandhi
In response to the Aam Aadmi Party’s accusations of abuse against Rahul Gandhi, Congress defended its leader. Abhishek Dutt, Congress candidate from the Kasturba Nagar assembly seat, clarified that the Leader of Opposition had not used any abusive language towards the former Delhi Chief Minister.
“Rahul Gandhi did not abuse Arvind Kejriwal. He simply called him a ‘liquor mafia,’ which he is, due to his involvement in the liquor scam. Kejriwal owns the Sheesh Mahal, or he should come forward and admit that the Congress gifted it to him. In 2015, to win elections, Arvind Kejriwal made a promise of ‘Modi for PM, Kejriwal for CM.’ How can he think well of the country’s children if he falsely swore on his own children? Rahul Gandhi spoke the truth about Delhi,” Dutt told ANI.
Delhi will go to the polls on February 5 in a single phase, with results to be announced on February 8. While AAP aims for a third consecutive term, Congress is hoping for a comeback after failing to secure any seats in the last two assembly elections in the national capital.
