Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has received yet another threat related to a song linking him to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The threat was sent to Mumbai’s traffic control room around midnight on Thursday, adding to the growing security concerns surrounding the actor after a series of threats in recent months.
The message referenced a song that allegedly mentions both Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi, warning that the songwriter would face severe consequences within a month. “The songwriter will be rendered unable to write songs. If Salman Khan has the courage, he should protect them,” the message stated.
This latest threat comes amid a rise in tensions linked to Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates, who have previously targeted Salman Khan over a long-standing grievance related to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
In a recent arrest, a 32-year-old man named Bhikha Ram, also known as Vikram, was detained by police in Haveri, Karnataka, in connection with previous threats to Salman Khan. Originally from Jalore, Rajasthan, Bhikha Ram was handed over to Maharashtra’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Wednesday.
During questioning, Bhikha Ram admitted to idolizing Lawrence Bishnoi, whom he regarded as his “idol.” He allegedly planned to use a ransom demand of Rs 5 crore to fund the construction of a temple for the Bishnoi community.
Mumbai Police are investigating another high-profile case involving a death threat and an extortion demand of ₹50 lakh targeting actor Shah Rukh Khan. The threatening call, made to the Bandra Police, was traced to a phone registered in the name of Faizan Khan, a lawyer from Raipur. Faizan, who reported his phone stolen on November 2, believes he was intentionally targeted as part of a larger conspiracy.
Preliminary details reveal that Faizan Khan had previously objected to a dialogue in Shah Rukh Khan’s 1994 film Anjaam, which referenced deer hunting—a sensitive issue for the Bishnoi community. On Thursday, Faizan was questioned by Mumbai Police in Raipur.
“I am from Rajasthan, and the Bishnoi community, which is from Rajasthan, is my friend. It is part of their religion to protect deer. So, if a Muslim makes a statement about deer, it is condemnable. That’s why I raised an objection,” Faizan said, according to news agency PTI.
During a two-hour interrogation, Faizan maintained that his phone had been stolen, claiming the call made from it was an attempt to frame him.
