The state capital, Hyderabad, was among the “warmer” districts, recording a minimum temperature of 10.3°C.
Telangana remains in the grip of a cold wave as temperatures plummeted across the state on Tuesday, December 17. Of the 33 districts, 25 recorded minimum temperatures below 10°C. Hyderabad, the state capital, experienced a chilly morning with temperatures dropping to 10.3°C, according to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS).
According to the data, Adilabad recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 5.9°C, followed by Sangareddy and Nirmal at 6.7°C. Rangareddy reported 6.8°C, while Vikarabad and Kamareddy both recorded 6.9°C.
Several other districts also experienced severe cold conditions. Kumaram Bheem Asifabad registered 7.1°C, Siddipet 7.6°C, Medak 7.8°C, and Rajanna Sircilla and Medchal-Malkajgiri both recorded 8.2°C. Jagtial and Mahabubnagar reported 8.5°C and 8.6°C, respectively, while Nizamabad logged 8.8°C, and Hanamkonda recorded 8.9°C.
Temperatures remained similarly low in Nagarkurnool and Mancherial at 9.1°C, Warangal at 9.4°C, and Mulugu and Jayashankar Bhupalpally at 9.5°C. Narayanpet recorded 9.6°C, Peddapalli 9.7°C, Yadadri Bhongir 9.8°C, Karimnagar 9.9°C, and Jangaon settled at 10°C.
The remaining eight districts, though slightly warmer, still faced cold conditions with temperatures just above 10°C. Hyderabad recorded 10.3°C, followed by Nalgonda at 10.4°C and Mahabubabad at 10.5°C. Jogulamba Gadwal and Wanaparthy reported 10.9°C, while Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam logged 11.2°C and 11.3°C, respectively. Suryapet recorded the highest minimum temperature in the state at 12.1°C.
